STAMFORD -- Stamford –Two years ago, Carlos Terron was a cook in General Electric’s cafeteria, and his wife, Alex, put in long shifts as an office manager for a pediatrician. Then, one night between swigs of Corona and sips of wine while trying to shake off the blues after a rough day at work, things came to a head. STAMFORD -- As the frostbitten camera crew disappeared for a brief break, all Alex Terron could do was catch her breath. "Everything has happened so quickly," she said. "We are still in la-la land." For the past three years, Alex and her husband, Carlos, have run the popular taco truck El Charrito on Richmond Place. The two, who are in their early 30s, have a following among a range of city residents, who seek out the yellow truck decorated with the figure of a grinning Mexican cowboy. Two weeks ago, they received a call from a producer at The Learning Channel asking whether they would be interested in trying out for a yet-to-be-named television series on food. Alex wasted no time, putting together a video in which the pair introduced themselves. Last week, she was informed El Charrito would be included in an episode on street food vendors. READ MORE>>
